Hikers who took a group selfie only discovered something was seriously amiss with the image hours later.
Capturing a group photo during an enjoyable activity like hiking a trail or climbing a mountain is quite common.
Six friends gathered closely - with two men in the back and four women in the front - and smiled for the camera.
However, the picture is not what it appears to be, leaving many people unsettled.

Posted in the Ghosts of London Facebook group and shared across various channels and platforms, over 1,400 people have liked the image for a specific reason.
It seems there’s a ghost hiding in plain view.
The photo was shared with the caption: "A friend of mine sent me this picture from his group of friends in Chile."

At first glance, everyone is smiling, dressed in their hiking gear.
Yet, if you look a bit closer, you'll notice a hidden face nestled between the two women on the left.
Social media users are convinced it's a haunted photo featuring a ghost.
Someone commented: "That gave me the shivers, which usually means my sixth sense is alerting me lol."

Another remarked: "How eerie is this in broad daylight, and how on earth did whatever it is get between these people? It’s a great catch, as many people, including me, wouldn’t have noticed it if I had taken the picture."
Someone else added: "Oh wow. This is an incredible find. I have a feeling it's not a friendly spirit. It's frightening. I wonder to whom this spirit is attached."
However, not everyone was convinced.
A user mentioned: "It's too clearly defined. You can see teeth and everything. I'm unsure about this one."

And commented: "Whether real or altered, it's hard to tell these days, but it's certainly creepy."
Another remarked: “That’s literally just their hair. Are they scared of their own hair?”
It genuinely appears like the face of a girl between the two women, and despite suggestions that it's just a trick of the hair, there definitely seems to be a third head with a visible scalp.

Similarly, a woman who visited one of Britain's most haunted locations realized she had captured a ghost on camera only after returning home.
The Cornish prison, Bodmin Jail, built in 1779, is no stranger to eerie happenings.
Tania Woods visited the jail as a birthday treat 13 years ago and noticed something unusual in one of her photos.
She shared it on Facebook, mentioning that she showed it to the staff, who offered her a ‘free overnight stay with a medium for the photo’.
In her image, there was the face of what seems to be a ghost.
She told the Mirror: "I didn't realize I'd captured the ghost until I got home. I was living in Cornwall at the time. I contacted them and went back with my photo. The director at the time said this spirit had been photographed before by a few others."
I don’t think I’ll be using my camera anytime soon.
